The champagne was flowing at last night’s Louis Vuitton launch for Blason – the new line of fine jewellery designed by Marc Jacobs gal-pal Camille Miceli and rapper/producer Pharrell Williams. A wild start to Couture week!

Welcome back in 2008! First of all I’m convinced this year is going to be amazing – remember how lucky 8 is in Chinese? Yesterday I was chatting with a friend about how sad it was that January was going to be so slow and then of course I remembered – duh! that both Men’s Fashion Week and Haute Couture will soon be upon us! One of the most hotly anticipated events coming is going to be the launch of the new Blason line of fine jewellery at Louis Vuitton! Designed by Camile Miceli and rapper Pharrell Williams, this event, which is being held at a private mansion on the avenue Foch on January 21st, is sure to bring a super bling-bling beginning to 2008!
I walked past Galignani’s last week and noticed that Belladone Island was featured prominently in their window. Belladonna is the toxic plant Renaissance Italian women used to dilate their pupils (a sign of sexual arousal) and which grows in abundance on Belladone, the imaginary island created by Victoire de Castellane for her line of haute-joaillerie at Dior.
Illustrated by Guido Mocafico and curated by Eric Troncy, I am totally mesmerised by this book and Victoire’s stunning pieces like the “Reina Magnifica Sangria,” “Poisono Misterius Spinella, and “Dracula Spinella Devorus.”

Monday the Fendi’s turned out en masse to support Delfina Delettrez Fendi’s (pictured above with family friend Karl Lagerfeld) new jewellery line available at Colette. Everyone was talking about two things! Supermodel Irina Lazareanu’s recent engagement with the ex-future Mr. Kate Moss (a.k.a. Babyshambles front-man Pete Doherty); and Charlotte Gainsbourg’s big Vogue announcement: she will be guest-editing the upcoming holiday issue of Paris Vogue! Both events will no doubt be of epic proportions! 😉
Zac Posen has said she is the type of woman he designs for, “imaginative, individual, and forever chic.” While Hubert de Givenchy calls her style “personal, elegant and refined.” After working for over 30 years as a muse for Yves Saint Laurent, Loulou de la Falaise is now rumoured to be partnering with Oscar de la Renta, for a line of jewellery to be presented at his Fall/Winter presentation in New York next February. Pictured above at the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2008 show, it’s obvious this is the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
They say that rugby is the gentleman’s sport – so gentlemen wanting to buy some more time in the pub or in front of the screen for the Rugby World Cup might want to think of offering this little bauble in pink gold and green tourmaline! Apart of the L’Art Emmêlé collection, which will be showcased at a special auction and gala dinner to benefit the Laureus Fondation on October 18th. BTW Allez les Bleus!!
With the recent spate of bad weather, flooding, and Venus about to turn retrograde on July 27th 😉 you may be looking for a new good luck charm! Ladies, look no further than Van Cleef & Arpel’s Sweet Alhambra collection. Four-leaf clovers, hearts, and butterlies are made from mother-of-pearl and white or yellow gold.
